Juneteenth: The Finale Action

If you are like me, this year is your first time hearing about Juneteenth. What is Juneteenth and why is it significant to the Black struggle? In June of 1863 the finale action was taken to bring about full Emancipation Proclamation (Freedom of enslaved Blacks in America) sign into Law by then President Abraham Lincoln. This Day June 19 deserve and should be recognized by all Blacks in America as a special day. 47 States and the District of Columbia recognize Juneteenth as either a State holiday or ceremonial day, a day of observance. Juneteenth has been celebrated under many names, Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, and Cel-Liberation Day, Second Independence Day, and Emancipation Day to name just a few.

On Monday evening, 43-year-old rapper, Kanye West wrote during in a tweet storm that his wife Kim K was trying to have a doctor "lock me up." "Kim was trying to fly to Wyoming with a doctor to lock me up like on the movie Get Out because I cried about saving my daughters life yesterday ," West wrote on Twitter, referring to his comments about North West during his first campaign rally over the weekend.
