Coronavirus relief talks came to an abrupt halt Tuesday as President Trump ordered Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to stop negotiating
with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi until after the November election.
Hours later, however, Trump appeared to contradict himself in a series of tweets that called for Congress to “IMMEDIATELY” approve additional aid for small businesses and airlines.
Chadwick Boseman, star of “Black Panther”, died on Friday after a four year battle with colon cancer. He was 43.
Before he was cast as the Marvel Studios superhero, Boseman’s career first exploded with his portrayals of Black American icons Jackie Robinson (in 2013’s “42”) and James Brown (in 2014’s “Get on Up”).
“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” said a statement posted to his Twitter feed. “It was the honor of his life to bring King T’Challa to life in ‘Black Panther.'”
According to Judge Napolitano, Pelosi could become the next president. “President Trump's term ends at precisely noon on Jan. 20, 2021. If the Electoral College has not yet named a successor, presumably either Donald Trump or Joe Biden, then whoever is the speaker of the House would become the acting president of the United States."
He explained, "If the Democrats retain their majority in the House, and it appears likely that they will, but if they do, and if they choose Mrs. Pelosi, knowing at that point that they're choosing the president of the United States, then it would be she."
Democrats could choose someone else or the Republicans could have the majority if they flip the House in November, the judge said.
"Stated simply," he added, "whoever is the sitting speaker of the United States, would become president at noon on Jan. 20, 2021, if the Electoral College has failed to elect someone."
Behind the golden voice, the laid-back persona, is a young lady who is carrying the world on her shoulders. Sweetz opened up about her mother’s health, her love life or the lack of, and the inspiration behind her new hit song “Womb-Man”.
The lyrics of “Womb-man” is pure rawness. This interview will help give you an insight as to where all of this energy came from.
To break the ice for such a heavy conversation, we asked the artist a fun question.
Which three musicians would you like to be your husband, boyfriend and side dude.
“CIC will definitely make a great husband, Bruno Boy a great boyfriend and Lib Foreign a great side dude.”
We moved slowly into her personal love life and more.
Are you currently in a relationship?
“No, currently, I am 100% single.”
There has been rumors of you dating Lewis McCarthy, Lorenzo Loveland and the late Quincy B. Which one of the three were you dating or did you date all three of them?
Quincy B and I had a great chemistry, which we did flirt from time to time, but we never crossed that line. Lewis was my manager and a friend, more like a big brother to me, and nothing more. Loveland and I dated for a while.
During our conversation earlier, you mention that you have been going through a lot. Would you like to share with your fans some of your struggles that you have been dealing with behind the scene?
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and it has been tough for both of us. I had to help take care of her during her chemo, keep her motivated, while dealing with the Liberian entertainment industry.
Speaking of the industry, is the case between you and DenG closed? I heard that the case has been closed and DenG was found not guilty.
Absolutely not. The case is still open, there is a warrant out for DenG’s arrest.
Your new song “Womb-Man” is a very heavily emotional song. What’s the inspiration behind it?
Trying to navigate my way through my mother’s sickness, the DenG situation and going through a break up with my ex, I had to turn to music as a place of refuge. Womb-man is all that energy in one package.
How are the fans receiving such a song that is so raw?
They love it. There will always be some percentage of naysayers, but it is only 5% negative feed back. 95% of the feedbacks I have received are very positive.
Look out for more from Sweetz. She is back from a long break and is holding nothing back.
Robert Trump, the younger brother of President Donald Trump, has passed away, the White House said in a statement late Saturday.
"It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight," the president said in the statement. "He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again."
It is not clear what the cause of his death was. The White House did not disclose Robert Trump's illness and the date of his most recent hospitalization.
Rep. Ilhan Omar on Tuesday defeated her Democratic primary challenger, attorney Antone Melton-Meaux, who garnered attention for outraising her during the campaign, the Associated Press projected.
The race has gotten attention in recent weeks: Melton-Meaux said he supported Omar’s first run for Congress in 2018 but criticized her for the number of votes she’s missed.
“She has been ineffective in Washington because she is divisive, and she’s focused on her celebrity,” Melton-Meaux told The Associated Press.
Congratulations to Sen. Kamala Harris on her nomination as Joe Biden’s running mate. Mr. Biden announced earlier that he had chosen Ms. Harris to be his running mate. Harris, 55, is the first Black woman and the first person of Indian descent ever nominated for national office by a major political party.
President Donald Trump was abruptly escorted by a U.S. Secret Service agent out of the White House briefing room as he was beginning a coronabriefing Monday afternoon. He returned minutes later, saying there was a shooting, outside the White House that was “under control.”
According to the Secret Service, a "male subject" and a Secret Service officer were taken to the hospital. The suspect may have serious or critical injuries. The condition of the officer and the nature of their injuries was not immediately released.
Former first lady Michelle Obama opened up about her struggles with a “form of low-grade depression” in a new episode of her podcastposted on Wednesday.
She pinned some of the blame on President Donald Trump, but said it runs deeper than that.
‘I’d be remiss to say that part of this depression is also a result of what we’re seeing in terms of the protests, the continued racial unrest, that has plagued this country since its birth. I have to say that waking up to the news, waking up to how this administration has or has not responded, waking up to yet another story of a Black man or a Black person somehow being dehumanized, or hurt or killed, or falsely accused of something, it is exhausting. And it has led to a weight that I haven’t felt in my life, in a while.’
She said she deals with the negativity by sticking to a routine, a tool she picked up during her many years navigating the White House spotlight. Still, it’s not easy.
“I’m waking up in the middle of the night, ’cause I’m worrying about something, or there’s a heaviness,” she said. “I try to make sure I get a workout in, although there have been periods throughout this quarantine, where I just have felt too low... I’ve gone through those emotional highs and lows that I think everybody feels, where you just don’t feel yourself.”
Hold on tight, because the full moon is currently in Aquarius, and has a rebellious energy that may bring about sudden and unusual events that challenge each of us to take action. The moon in the air sign of Aquarius (representing collective society, unique individuality, and social responsibility), while the sun is in the opposing fire sign of Leo(representing the heart, creativity, and self-expression).
These cosmic events form a challenging T-square aspect with the sun and Uranus in Taurus. As the planetary ruler of Aquarius, Uranus is a cosmic trigger for change and liberation. So during this full-moon moment, we will collectively realize what is restricting our freedom and what is no longer in alignment.
In the midst of this chaotic energy, there’s an opportunity for healing, given that the full moon makes a harmonious sextile connection with the asteroid Chiron, in Aries. Chiron is an ancient archetype representing a journey of self-healing, so this aspect asks us to honor our needs and take action to shift and transform our lives for the better.
But the specific area of life in which this energy will manifest for you depends on where you have Taurus, Aquarius, and Leo in your own natal chart.
So, take care of yourself. Here are few self care tips.
Self-awareness is healing for you. Pray for clarity of mind. Write down your thoughts after your session, and review the notes to bring you awareness of any limiting beliefs that come through so you can change them.
Nurture yourself. Plan a relaxing hike, bike ride, or pray for God to rise your vibration and connect with nature. This will calm your nerves and help you prepare for the energies that lay ahead.
When balanced, your throat chakra (throat energy center) enables you to speak your truth. Create a list of 11 positive “I am” affirmations and read them out loud to yourself in the mirror.
Embrace going with the flow during this chaotic time. Be still and know that God is God. This helps to detox, soothe, and calm the mind, body, and spirit.
Listen to relaxing music to lift your mood and boost creativity. Play all your favorite music and have a quiet session to just be.

Nick Cannon issued an apology online for anti-Semitic comments he made on a podcast. “First and foremost I extend my deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words that came out of my mouth during my interview with Richard Griffin,” Cannon said on his Twitter account.
“They reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people and I feel ashamed of the uninformed and naïve place that these words came from. The video of this interview has since been removed.”
In the hour-plus episode of “Cannon’s Class” released last month that prompted his firing, Cannon and Richard “Professor Griff” Griffin, formerly of the rap group Public Enemy, contended that Black people are the true Hebrews and Jews have usurped that identity.
Cannon then argued that lighter-skinned people — “Jewish people, white people, Europeans” — “are a little less” and have a “deficiency” that historically caused them to act out of fear and commit acts of violence to survive.
America is a constant work in progress. What gives each new generation purpose is to take up the unfinished work of the last and carry it further — to speak out for what’s right, to challenge an unjust status quo, and to imagine a better world.
John Lewis — one of the original Freedom Riders, chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, the youngest speaker at the March on Washington, leader of the march from Selma to Montgomery, Member of Congress representing the people of Georgia for 33 years — not only assumed that responsibility, he made it his life’s work. He loved this country so much that he risked his life and his blood so that it might live up to its promise. And through the decades, he not only gave all of himself to the cause of freedom and justice, but inspired generations that followed to try to live up to his example.
Considering his enormous impact on the history of this country, what always struck those who met John was his gentleness and humility. Born into modest means in the heart of the Jim Crow South, he understood that he was just one of a long line of heroes in the struggle for racial justice. Early on, he embraced the principles of nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience as the means to bring about real change in this country, understanding that such tactics had the power not only to change laws, but to change hearts and minds as well.
In so many ways, John’s life was exceptional. But he never believed that what he did was more than any citizen of this country might do. He believed that in all of us, there exists the capacity for great courage, a longing to do what’s right, a willingness to love all people, and to extend to them their God-given rights to dignity and respect. And it’s because he saw the best in all of us that he will continue, even in his passing, to serve as a beacon in that long journey towards a more perfect union.
I first met John when I was in law school, and I told him then that he was one of my heroes. Years later, when I was elected a U.S. Senator, I told him that I stood on his shoulders. When I was elected President of the United States, I hugged him on the inauguration stand before I was sworn in and told him I was only there because of the sacrifices he made. And through all those years, he never stopped providing wisdom and encouragement to me and Michelle and our family. We will miss him dearly.
It’s fitting that the last time John and I shared a public forum was at a virtual town hall with a gathering of young activists who were helping to lead this summer’s demonstrations in the wake of George Floyd’s death. Afterwards, I spoke to him privately, and he could not have been prouder of their efforts — of a new generation standing up for freedom and equality, a new generation intent on voting and protecting the right to vote, a new generation running for political office. I told him that all those young people — of every race, from every background and gender and sexual orientation — they were his children. They had learned from his example, even if they didn’t know it. They had understood through him what American citizenship requires, even if they had heard of his courage only through history books.
Not many of us get to live to see our own legacy play out in such a meaningful, remarkable way. John Lewis did. And thanks to him, we now all have our marching orders — to keep believing in the possibility of remaking this country we love until it lives up to its full promise.
